IRB 101

IRB 101 covers the history of research ethics, ethical principles, the Belmont Report, and the development and application of the federal regulations for human subject protections. This presentation is designed for research ethics courses, faculty departments, new faculty and other interested audiences.

General information about BYU’s Federal-wide assurance and policies, criteria for review of research, informed consent process, research protocol review processes, and the application of the ethical principles and regulatory requirements can be part of the material. This course can be customized to the audience and can range from 15-45 minutes.
