FWA and Registration Numbers

The Federalwide Assurance (FWA) is a binding written agreement between Brigham Young University and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). BYU commits to uphold federal regulations and comply with 45 CFR 46 and ethical principles for human subject research conducted by BYU researchers.

The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) require IRBs to register through a database maintained by DHHS.
