What is the IRB? and Who operates it?
Welcome to the Brigham Young University IRB Office
Our mission at Brigham Young University is to safeguard the rights and well-being of human research participants. We adhere to the guidelines set forth in 45 Code of Federal Regulations Part 46 (45 CFR 46), Protection of Human Subjects, which govern the scope and purpose of our Institutional Review Board (IRB) activities. Our commitment is rooted in ethical principles that guide the conduct of human research.
The protection of research participants at Brigham Young University is a collective endeavor, involving the institution, researchers, IRB committees, and the IRB Office. Together, we work towards the common objective of ensuring participant safety and welfare.
The IRB Office holds the primary responsibility for the development and oversight of the University's Human Participant Protection Program (HRPP).
